In an orchestrated vote that would have made Beethoven proud, Malick appointed Casagrande to the Borough Administrator position, breaking a 3x3 tie vote ! Outgoing conductors Martin and O'brien voting with Kegelman gave the taxpayer one last middle finger salute before making their exit ! The new Council can rescind this appointment but Malick has given Ms Casagrande a contract that was probably written by her !
She graciously agrees to take the $42K in overtime she says she is entitled to, as time owed, which means if they fired her on Jan.1st, she would get 90 days notice and want $42K in additional compensation ! Think Court Case ! This OT was supposedly run up from 2005 while she had different titles such as Deputy this and Deputy that ? Why wasn't it paid in those years ? It turns out that by law, Clerks and Administrators can't collect overtime so a new story has been invented to pull off yet another heist of taxpayer money in broad daylight !
Let's hope the incoming Council people take their job seriously and help clean up Borough Hall and Politics in General !! The subterfuge used to create, then give Casagrande this additional position, overshadows any qualifications she may have for that position ! By pushing this through 2 days before a new Council takes office, Malick has again told the people that their votes do not matter and it's his way or the highway ! The people of the Heights deserve better than Malick and what we have had as representation !
